Team Manager
The Cycle Effect
Reporting to the Routt County Manager, the Routt Teams Manager leads day-to-day team
programming and coach coordination. This role is responsible for practice execution, team
culture, operational follow-through, and maintaining strong relationships with participants and
families. The Teams Manager ensures that Routt programming runs smoothly, safely, and in
alignment with The Cycle Effect’s mission and values. This year- round, part-time role operates
on a variable schedule driven by program demand. Weekly hours may reach up to 20 during
peak programming periods and may decrease during off-season months when programming is
limited.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Leadership & Practice Execution
● Lead and oversee team practices and programming implementation for teams in Routt
County
● Create and communicate practice plans in collaboration with the Routt County Manager
and coaching staff
● Implement TCE curriculum and mentorship standards during practices
● Actively ride with participants and support ongoing skill development
● Collaborate with coaches to assess athlete skills and tailor instruction
● Make confident day-of-programming decisions related to safety, instruction, and group
management
● Serve as a ride leader and model effective trail group management
2. Coach Coordination & Culture
● Support onboarding of new coaches and athletes to ensure belonging and clarity
● Foster a fun, inclusive, and values-driven team culture
● Cultivate a positive working environment horizontally (peer coaches) and vertically (with
County Manager)
● Attend coach meetings and required trainings
● Radiate positivity, flexibility, professionalism, and accountability
● Maintain punctuality and reliability for all practices, events, and deadlines
3. Family & Participant Engagement
● Build strong relationships with participants and families
● Provide consistent, professional communication via WhatsApp, Gmail, and phone calls
in English and Spanish
● Support clear communication of practice logistics, updates, and reminders
● Represent TCE with kindness, compassion, and gratitude
● Strengthen community through races, potlucks, volunteer opportunities, and team
gatherings
4. Operations, Logistics & Safety
● Attend scheduled practices and key events in coordination with the Routt County
Manager (evenings required; occasional weekends)
● Follow and uphold all risk management procedures
● Complete attendance tracking, practice reports, surveys, and incident documentation
accurately and on time
● Manage equipment inventory and coordinate basic maintenance needs
● Support vehicle, van, and trailer logistics, including driving when needed
● Assist with setup and breakdown of programming equipment and event logistics
5. Accountability & Administrative Expectations
● Attend and prepare for weekly check-ins with the Routt County Manager
● Review goals, metrics, and programming priorities regularly
● Stay informed through weekly updates and internal communication
● Use Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Calendar) and WhatsApp on desktop
and mobile
● Submit timecards and expense reports in a timely manner
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
● High School diploma or equivalent preferred
● Must be at least 21 years old
● Experience working with youth or adult learners preferred; prior coaching experience a
plus
● Spanish-English bilingual required

● Willingness to learn, take feedback, and grow under the supervision of the Routt County
Manager
● Self-motivated and proactive in supporting programming, coaching, and community
engagement
Certifications & Legal Requirements
● Valid driver’s license and reside in the county of the program
● CPR/First Aid Certification, SafeSport, Ride Leader, Heads Up concussion training, and
Colorado Mandatory Reporter required within 30 days; WFA/WFR preferred
● Must submit a background check
● Time Commitment
● Commitment to season of ~20 hours/week including practices, weekend events,
community service projects, and recruitment/engagement events
● Must be available for evening sessions, occasional weekend events, and race
experiences
● Participate in virtual and in-person training (13–17 hours paid prior to season)
Physical Requirements
● Lifting, moving, or exerting force up to 50 lbs
● Ride a mountain bike for a minimum of 3 hours at a time
● Reaching, pushing, or pulling with arms/hands up to 50 lbs
● Climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, and crouching
● Working outdoors in heat and cold temperatures
