MEDIA SAVVY introduces principles of "digital citizenship" and addresses the challenges of online life. Participants examine a wide range of issues including; Sexting, Cyber-bullying, Catfishing, Grooming, Faulty social narratives. Each of these impacts our relationships. Participants will develop a stronger sense of how to maintain privacy and avoid risks. By adopting simple protective measures and learning key principles of responsible online citizenship, everyone can use the internet more safely.
Supporting LGBTQIA+ Youth

This presentation will go over the unique vulnerabilities and strengths of LGBTQIA+ youth. We will define words that are relavant to the LGBTQIA+ community, such as gender, biological sex, sexuality, and various identities of this diverse population. We will practice skills for being an ally to trans youth in particular. Lastly, we will talk about how adults can be allies to LGBTQIA+ youth and provide intervention strategies for adults who notice signs of homophobic, biphobic, and transphobic bullying.

A simple paint by numbers interactive workshop session that will have you on your way to improving your communication skills - invaluable in building (or re-building) a positive relationship with your child. Effective strategies are applicable for parents of any age child, but I tend to speak in terms of parents of the 10-18-year-old range.
